Who Are These Guys Anyway?

UnforgottenCards.com was created out of the idea that real greeting cards should be as easy to remember and as easy to send as electronic greeting cards. I came from a family where birthdays and special occasions are always remembered, usually with a card in the mail, a phone call or some other form of personal correspondence. Exactly the kind of thing I have always been terrible at remembering!

Spamalot!

E-cards, while convenient to send, always left me feeling like somewhat of a cop-out. They somehow lacked the same impact of receiving a real paper card in the mail from someone you care about and holding it in your hands. I also found that electronic cards that were sent to me were often blocked by my anti-spam email program. While I appreciated not having to read emails claiming to improve my love life or spoofs demanding I reset my ebay password immediately(*), I was concerned that not only was I missing notes from friends and family, but they might be missing the ones from me as well.

Real Greeting Cards for an E-Greetings Paced World

One day while driving to work where, at the time, I was writing reporting database applications for a major corporation, I had an epiphany. Why not let people buy cards in advance and have those cards shipped to them in time for them to add a personal note and forward on to the final recipient? I had seen other people who were good at always remembering to send a card for every special occasion, would buy their cards in advance and organize them by date in a kind of greeting card organizer.  With my background in programming and a creative side of me screaming to get out, I knew I could provide a solution for all the people out there who suffered from the same combination of good intentions and bad memories as myself. And thus... UnforgottenCards.com was born.

Going Mobile

While initially our store was geared more toward consumers who needed a little help remembering to send out greeting cards on time, we found that a number of our customers suffer from limited mobility and that getting to the local greeting card store was more than just an inconvenience, it wasn't even an option. We are especially happy to provide services to folks with limited mobility and are constantly making efforts to improving the site's accessibility for all users.

The Premise of Convenience Grows

Eventually, due to numerous requests, UnforgottenCards.com's service was expanded to also offer card personalization. As it turned out, not only were there a lot of people out there with a lot of other things to remember but they had very little time to do them as well. This was the same inspiration that led to also making postage available for individual cards at the time they are ordered to save our customers a trip to the post office..
